Paper Pocket processes PDFs, images, scans, signatures and notes locally. The app has no account system, advertisements, analytics or developer-operated cloud storage.
1. Scope
This policy describes how Paper Pocket handles information when you use its offline Android PDF tools and notes features. It also explains what happens if you contact the developer or visit this policy webpage.
2. Information handled on your device
The app accesses documents and images you select, photos you capture for scanning, signatures you draw or import, text you enter, and document passwords you provide for PDF operations. This information is used locally to perform the operation you request.
Created documents, notes, note titles and preferences, and recent-file information such as filenames and the tool used are stored in the app’s local storage. Temporary working copies, previews and captured images may be stored in its cache. Paper Pocket does not upload this content to the developer or an app server.
3. Collection, sharing and tracking
Paper Pocket does not transmit personal information or document content to the developer. It does not include advertising, tracking, analytics or automatic crash-reporting services, and does not sell personal information. The app does not request Android’s Internet permission.
No registration, payment information, contacts or location is required. There is no developer-operated account or server-side document history.
4. File access and camera scanning
Android’s file picker lets you choose files to open and locations to save exported files. The app can retain access to selected files when Android permits it; it does not request unrestricted access to all device files.
Scanning opens a camera application on your device at your request. That application captures a photo and returns it for local processing. Paper Pocket does not record audio or continuously access the camera. Camera applications and Android file providers operate under their own settings and privacy policies.
5. Files you export and external services
When you save a document outside the app, Android writes a copy to the destination you choose. If you choose a cloud storage provider, that provider may upload or synchronise the file under its own policies. Paper Pocket does not automatically send your files to cloud services. Files you subsequently share using other apps are handled by those apps.
6. Retention and deletion
- Notes and created files in app storage remain until you delete them, clear the app’s storage or uninstall the app.
- You can delete individual notes in Notes and the app’s generated file copies in its file history. Deleting a generated copy does not delete the original source or separately exported copies.
- Working copies are cleaned up during normal use and app startup. Some cached previews or captured images may remain until cleared by the app, Android or you.
- To remove all app-local content, use Android Settings → Apps → Paper Pocket → Storage → Clear storage, or uninstall the app. These actions do not remove files saved outside the app; delete those separately using your file manager or storage provider.
The app does not provide its own cloud backup and disables Android’s standard automatic app backup. Device transfer or vendor backup behaviour may depend on the device and Android version. The developer cannot remotely access or erase your app-local files.
7. Security
App-private storage and Android’s access controls help protect local information. Notes and ordinary output files are not automatically password-protected by Paper Pocket. PDF password protection applies only when you choose that tool. Protect your device, keep sensitive exported files secure, and retain your PDF passwords safely. No storage or security measure can guarantee complete protection.
8. Support messages
If you email the developer, your email address, message and any attachments you voluntarily send are received through the email provider. They are used to answer your request and troubleshoot problems, and retained only as needed for that purpose or applicable legal obligations. You can request deletion by email; any necessary legal retention will be explained. Avoid sending sensitive documents or passwords. Support correspondence is separate from the offline app’s operation.
9. Children’s privacy
Paper Pocket does not require personal information from children and does not knowingly collect children’s personal information through the app. If you believe a child has sent personal information in a support message, contact the developer to request its deletion.
10. This webpage and third-party services
This static policy page contains no embedded advertising, analytics scripts, external fonts or forms. When published on Cloudflare Pages, Cloudflare handles web requests and may process technical information such as IP addresses and request details to deliver and protect the page under its privacy policy. This website activity does not upload documents or notes from Paper Pocket. Google Play and Android services handle their own platform information under their respective policies.
11. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated when the app or its data practices change. The revised policy and effective date will be posted on this page. Material changes will also be communicated in the app or its release information as appropriate.
